We’ve adjusted the vitamin B6 in Vitals⁺
Your health comes first. So when the science changes, so do we.
We have a commitment to provide you with the optimal amounts of the vitamins and minerals that your brain needs to thrive.
Previously, we’ve included 30mg of vitamin B6 in each dose of Vitals⁺. This is compared to a safe upper limit (SUL) of 100mg , determined by the US FDA. However, we’ve now reduced that to 20mg.
What does the science say?
Last year, in our scientific review of the formula, we found that the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) were looking to reduce the upper safe limit to 21mg , based on some concerns over a specific form of vitamin B6—a synthetic compound which we don’t use, but is common in lower-quality supplements. As this compound is artificial, it is associated with more side effects than the compound used in Heights.
We use, and will continue to use, the compound P5P for our B6, which is the bioactive form (so it doesn’t need to be converted within the body), and is routinely sold in doses of 30mg and above.
That said, with our principle of causing no harm, we decided to bring the B6 down to reflect EFSA’s safe upper limit. We didn’t take this decision lightly, as we know how well the formula is working for our customers, but we always want to follow the science to the letter, so we’ve made the change.
We’ve lowered our vitamin B6 dosage to 20mg
And from now on, every single bottle of Vitals⁺ will have this new dose.
This is why we’re committed to producing Vitals⁺ in small batches. When the science says we need to change something—we can do it fast.
What does the new dose mean for you?
You’re very unlikely to feel any major difference, as the new dose is still 1429% of the nutrient reference value (NRV) for vitamin B6. This means that you should still reap all the benefits, which include:
-
Balancing mood
-
Boosting energy
-
Supporting heart health

FAQs
Why did you start with 30mg of vitamin B6?
When we first designed the formula, the science suggested that 30mg was the optimal amount—well within the 100mg safe upper limit—and we felt happy with that.
Studies of side effects all included doses over 100mg/day (and some even went up to 1000mg/day).
How much vitamin B6 is safe to consume?
The SUL of vitamin B6 varies in different areas. In the US, it’s 100mg, but in the EU, there’s a suggestion that it might be revised down to 21mg. So our new dose of 20mg falls within both.
What’s the government-recommended amount of vitamin B6?
According to the UK’s National Health Service, we require about 1.4mg of vitamin B6 each day . However, this is based on the amount needed to simply prevent deficiency, rather than the optimal amount with a tangible benefit. Research suggests that a higher dose can have more pronounced benefits.
Will the formula change again?
It could. We’re always learning, and studying the impact of Vitals⁺ on your brain. And we make it in small batches, so we can review the science regularly, and make any necessary changes.
